Default Raptor 350 Problem, Need Advice

Hey everyone,

I have 2007 raptor 350. Here is the problem, when I ride, at random times the entire machine will just start sputtering and dieing down as if its going to shut off (sometimes it does). It sounds like when your going way to slow in a higher gear and it sputters mixed with the sound of the machine turning off.

I have had this problem for a little while now. The only way to perk it back up and keep riding is to hold in the clutch, rev it, and let off the clutch and it goes again.

I have cleaned the carburetor twice, gone through the engine, and replaced the fuel line. I don't know what else it could be or what the problem is. Anything helps, thanks.

Can be all sorts of things, most likely water in fuel, was there any in the float bowl when you cleaned the carb? Other possibilities are electrical, any component in the ignition system could be suspect, most obvious, spark plug, but a broken wire or one that is just shorting onto the frame now and again, or a bad earth, can cause an intermittent fault which you may never trace unless the fault stays on.

I run rec gas and ride often so it won't have water in the tank. The spark plug is fine too. I haven't checked anything electrical. Anything more specific with that? Could the entire carburetor be bad?

Carburettors don't go bad, they can get worn needles and split daphragms, but neither cause intermittent faults, dirt or water in jets can. There is no point in me suggesting things if you don't check them.

Merryman, I am very busy right now with schooling, and family things. It is difficult to have any time out by my quad.

Besides that, thanks for helping me out. What type of electrical problems could be happening?

Like I wrote above, any ignition component, coil CDI, stator, or just a bad connection in wiring, almost impossible to find except when the fault is on.
