Hey yall I just picked up this quad pretty good looking machine pretty clean the guy told me the compression release spring came off I'm not sure if he talking about the weight or actual spring so I haven't tried to run it yet. Just wondering before I tear into it if it's possible have you heard of anything like that if so what's best way to go about fixing it is it something I need to replace the cam also how would I get the broken piece out of the motor I don't gotta split it open do i?

Update: I got it running it was a pain battery was dead so that didn't help ran on choke sounds real good sounded like had some noise in the top end so I pulled the cover thinking it had something to do with the compression release but when I got it apart everything looked fine gonna check the valves before I put it back together. What else causes hard start on these is looks to me like someone already messed with the front cam and turned it back a tooth believe it's 11.25 degrees they called it.
