Default Earlier year motor?

Will a 350 motor from a 1988 Warrior bolt up to a 2001 frame?

Another warrior yes. you will need to change the flywheel and stator over though. That is about the only thing that changes on warriors threw the years other than the configuration of the headlights

Default Thx!

Thx for getting back to me. Just to be clear, are the motor mounts the same on both motors? i really don't want to start cutting and welding on the frame. When you say I need to change the stator and flywheel. Is that because the electrical system has changed? If so can I use the stator and flywheel from the 2001 engine I have now? I just put a new stator/magneto in last week. Thought I had electrical problems but after replacing that and the ignition coil I was still having problems with it breaking up when I accelerated. I probably should've checked the compression before doing all that. I have around 40psi closed throttle and 90psi open throttle. Rather just pull it out and stick a running motor in than buy all the parts and put in the aggravation of tearing it down and doing a top end rebuild. Rather get out riding. Thx, Kevin

Yes motor mounts are the same I think the bolts from the earlier model are a little smaller but will still work. Yes the electrical system will switch over compare the stator connections on the 2 machines and you will see why. but you will have to switch the flywheel and stator over from the from the bike your putting the motor in. Top end rebuilds are not that bad to do though if you wanted to do that. and have the tools to do it.
Where are you located? I might be interested in your 88 if your close enough.

My bike is the 2001 and I can do a rebuild but last week when I was taking the head off, one the headbolts came out about a quarter inch and got stuck. The hexhead is wobbled out now so I can't screw it back in or out. Now I got to cut it off ,maybe drill it out and then rethread it and pray it holds. Screw that. There's someone who's selling their '88 motor rebuilt online at a fair price so I think it's worth keeping my sanity to go the swap route as long as they bolt motor to frame the same . I appreciate your knowledge on the subject. These forums are great help. It's always riding weather in Sarasota Florida so I really want to do what gets me out there again the fastest.
