1st : DS (this is hard to say!)
2nd : Craptor
3rd : banshee
...etc

Straight out of the box, I really think the DS is faster. Stock, the shee lacks power and grip (unless you're racing on asphalt) -and I won't start the adding pipes...etc-.

Th fx400, I have no clue...it wil be damn fast. The 426 YZF puts out 50 rwhp (from a reliable source), the mx400 is slightly less powerful, and the fx is again detuned (politically correct would be said :adapted to atv use). Added to the fact that you have more weight to get to turn (quad vs bike), the fx400 should be in the 40s...which would make it an honest contender...

When i was looking at it, the dealer told me the FX400 (430cc) puts out 55 hp.

 

Most likely the LT500, although I doubt 55 RWHP,
the RM 500 that the motor came from was nowhere near that powerful.

The 00 CR 500 puts out 55-56HP, and the RM when it was made was the weakest Open Class bike avail.

As far as DirtWheels and ATVSport.

Did not ATVSport have the Banshee and DS at 71.5
on hard pack and both at 62 on Sand in previous shootouts, I will state again as I have before
that mag is really going downhill.

DW is known for that same thing, they change with every issue.

I have never seen a Stock LT 500 in action, so I cannot attest to its capacity.

What I have seen;

Raptor/DS-yes the Raptor dose equal the DS.
Banshee-close within 1-2 M.P.H. of the other 2.
LT 250
TRX 250R-we are talking speed, nothing else.
400 EX-laugh all you want, in truth it is no slouch.

As I stated previous I have never seen a stock
LT 500 run, nor have I seen a Tecate 4 or a Cannondale run.

Yep. My dealer told me that a Banshee would go 103 MPH bone stock. That's dealers for ya.
