The DS and Raptor are very close but the Banshee FEELS the fastest with the 2 stroke hit.

 

Haha, I'm not getting involved with this cause I have no idea, but I noticed that someone said that their dealer told them a stock Banshee would do 103mph, I love it. It's amazing what they will say won't they? When the Raptors first came out a friend of mine went to a local dealer and asked him about one (cause he was interested in buying one), and the dealer told him that it would KILL a Banshee in every catagory. Well, my other friend recently went down to the same dealer and asked him about the new Banshee's because he's got a '98 and was thinking of trading for a new one. The guy said that the new Banshee's are faster than they have ever been, and that it would take at least $500 to make his '98 compete with them. Then my friend asked him about how they compare to the Raptors and the dealer told him that in a Drag race and top speed a Banshee would walk all over a Raptor, and it would kill it even more on the track and trail. Well, I guess that one of his stories may be true. Also, did anybody see "The Peoples Court" Episode where a guy was sueing another guy for wrecking his new Banshee? The judge was asking the guy how fast he was going when the quad crashed and he said like 50-60mph. Then the judge said "Will those things really go that fast?", and the owner said "Yes your honor, it is a 2000 Yamaha Banshee, and it will go over 130mph". Man, whoever sold him that saw him coming a mile away. I oughta tell him about my Jet Powered Polaris Sport that will do 150mph forwards or backwards! Man, I really rambled on here...I need to get a life. Take care guys.

I know the mags have been going down hill, but I have not heard mention of any new quad going over 73mph latley. If you think the new quads like the DS and Raptor are under rated in the mags at 71-72mph, just imagine how under rated the LT500 was at 79mph? As far as that goes, the Tecate4 went 75mph? That little 250 is recorded a faster time than the Shee, DS and Raptor! I don't think the mags lie about top speeds, they do the best they can to get an equal playing ground for all the sport bikes. As for over all performance, the mags, just like us, have thier own opinions. I think if we all feel that the mags are showing favorites, we should ask to come watch thier shootouts, live in person, and they should ask the spectators for thier opinion.

As for this topic, the LT500 is the winner hands down! The Tecate4 is second. Unless the DS, Raptor, 250r and Banshee owners can show some proof,they are 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in line. Proof means a time slip from the local drag strip, scanned and put up so we can see it, not "my GPS said this", or "I had a car follow me". Show something we can see. Until then, all the info I have found has been the LT500, and the Tecate4.

PS) Even if the magazines are lying, they are not lying 6-8mph worth. You would have to say your quad goes 80mph to beat the LT500, that is not the case!

 

I was at Little Saharah this past weekend and got to see a fx 400 for the first time. I saw it outrun stock Raptors,stock ds 650s,piped Raptors and piped ds 650s. It is a pretty fast machine but i can't say much for the looks.

The only choking thats going to be done is you choking on all the dust the ds650's sling in your face when they pass you and your CRAPTOR is still stuck in second gear.
Maybe thats the problem with the transmission on the CRAPTOR. All the dust from following the ds650's.
