Default 1988 big bear won’t start with button

I have a 1988 big bear 350 4x4 that won’t start with the starter. It will start with back up and run just fine. When I turn the key on I don’t get any neutral light or reverse light or anything. Once I start it with the pull start the reverse light comes on and the oil temp light and they randomly get brighter and dimmer. Can somebody help or know of what kind of issue this may be? I had another quad that I got rid of because I had to pull start it and now this one is doing it too! Please help!

Sounds a lot like the main fuse has gone. Usually they are on the solenoid on Yamahas. If the problem started after fitting a new solenoid, you can also connect the solenoid the wrong way round, if it has a fuse there. Terminal M goes to starter motor, terminal B to battery.

Next to your right leg on big bears there is a square box and there will be a little button on it that is a circit breaker press the button in and that might help also you could have bad connections in your wiring check battery and solenoid connections.

Mine was doing this same thing and a fuse was blown, but I cant remember where it was. I also thought my solenoid was bad but it was only a bad battery.
