Default fuse

What is the thing under your right leg as your sitting on bike (1996 yamaha big bear 350)? It has a fuse or something there tied up to all the wires. Whats its purpose, and theres a spare fuse in a slot right beside it? What does it do?

Its an extra fuse in case the other one in the black rubber holder goes bad. If that fuse blows you wont have anything electrical working.

Got it. I've had that original fuse in there since I bought the bike second hand from a Dealer in 2001. Never had to touch it. (record?)
