Could be a rip or hole in the intake boot. Or if its like the warriors there is a parking brake safety switch you bypass by just by fallowing the wires down from the perch. Unplug the 2 wires and plug them into eachother.

Ok I think yours is a 350CC so I looked in my books and for the Warrior and the Big Bear the clearance for valves when machine is cold and at TDC it is .06-.1 mm or(.00236-.00394 in) for the intake. Exhause it is.16-.20 mm or (.00630-.00787 in) I usually stay to the high side of the numbers.

I have had a warrior that did that too. Idle fine but not rev. I looked in the back of the carb and when I tried reving it up gas spit out the back of the carb. Now this is going to sound corny and like I'm full of **** but the problem was the stator was bad. So there is another thing to check.
