Hi Fredrik, I have a 1988 moto 4 champ 100cc and the ring gear was blown. I actually found an axle with ring gear yesterday on eBay and bought it (1988 the ring gear and axle were one piece) but I would like to know which kind of Chinese atv you got the rearend from incase in the future I need to change it out again. Thanks

Hi, the one I got was a Loncin lx110 atv or thats what they are named in Europe at least. I have seen many different types and names of these atvs with this rear axle (four bolt) so if its the same in USA its just to search for kids atv shaft drive in the "for sale" sites or facebooks marketplace, that´s how I found them.

If im right the 1988 model have a different type of axle than my 1991. Don´t know what else is different in the connection with the outgoing axle from the gearbox to the shaft but maybe it could work if you find a complete axle with swing arm like I did. I had to use the Yamahas shaft and that is probably not the same on the 1988 model.

Found this on Partzilla for 1988 years model: https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/ya...0u/drive-shaft and there you can see that there is two different types of driveshafts. Number 12 is the one I have.

So a wild guess is that if you find a complete rear axle (four bolt) and swingarm from a chinese atv and have the parts shown in number 12 it could work.

After a quick search in this forum it looks like some of the Yamoto 110 have this shaft drive.

Have you considered repair, rather than replacement of your rear axle? What is wrong with the shaft?

Here is a Yamaha YFM100T Moto4 Champ that I refurbished years ago. A T-model: 1996

This is a well-made quad, with unusual shaft drive.[/QUOTE ]

Default Rear axle slop between gears

I recently got the 87' yfm100 and of course I'm having rear end problems my gearing mesh in the rear end is way to much to the point of the gears not even meshing and causing issues obviously gears are still good is there a way to move the bigger gear inwards towards the small one and lock it in place ? Please help
Big gear has 1/2 of in and out play ! Trying to figure out a way to pull it inwards toward drive gear and lock it in place ??

You have probably blown out the ring gear bearing. Take out the axle and take a look. You may be able to just replace the
bearing.

it's not the bearing bearing seems fine the axle slides through the bearing 1/2 " almost seems i have to seat the ring gear into the drive gear and crank the two locking nuts tight tight on the BREAK side of the axle to lock the ring gear tight into the drive gear and It seems I have no play lol ? 😳

Have you looked at the YFM100 parts diagram, available free online?

There is a shoulder or part the ring gear is located with on the axle. Don't have a photo here. Could it have moved?
