2000 kodiak 400, not moving
#1
Hello there i have a 2000 kodiak 400 4x4 i bought it as a project knowing it didnt move in any gear, i replaced the wet clutch because all of the friction material was gone, along with the drum it rides in and i also checked the primary clutch and cleaned and re greased it, after all this the only way i can get it to move is i i put the rear tires off the ground, once i get on it and put it in gear it lunges forward and stalls, also does the same thing in reverse, any ideas?

Have you checked the roller weights and belt? With the side cover off and the trans in neutral the belt should spin and descend into the front and rear sheaths. If not your springs are probably week and or not torqued properly.

The rollers in the primary clutch? Yes i rebuilt that with new rollers and greased all of them, and when i put the belt on and started it up and revved it while in neutral i had the cover off and could see the clutch moving in and out and the belt going deeper into the sheaves
