Default 1992 TimberWolf YFB250 - I'm lost...

>> 1992 TimberWolf YFB250 - I'm lost... <<

Um...

Just bought my first 4-wheeler. An old 92 TimberWolf. At least according to the vin number.

All the pictures I find online show a starter pull rope. Mine does not have one and I cannot find anywhere that looks like one should be there.

I have no clue what's going on here. A little help would be greatly appreciated.

I have uploaded 3 pics to the link below (including the vin number). Would you guys please have a look-see and tell me just what the heck I am missing here?

Index of /timberwolf

Thank you a ton,
John

Different alternator case to the ones that have a pull start. I know some earlier 250s had that case, so perhaps a pull start was an option that yours didn't have, or an earlier engine has been fitted to replace a damaged one. The vin checks out as a 92 Yamaha.

Time to find the engine number I guess...

Thanks,
John

Just had a look at the on-line parts books, the 92 has that cover. By 95 the alternator case is for a pull start but shows a blanking plate, so pull start must have been an extra. By 2000 pull start is standard.
