Default Reverse light stuck on

Good morning everyone,
So we went riding in the mountains yesterday and I have a 1989 Yamaha Big Bear 350 5 speed and my reverse light is stuck on and wont let me auto start the quad so I was push starting it when I needed to! Just was hoping for a little help before I dig into it today.
Thank you for any helpful tips!

You probably have already figured this out, but I have a 1994 Kodiak 400 that had a similar problem. Mine was solved by putting in a new battery.

My battery had just enough voltage to turn on the reverse light, but not start the ATV. I had been using the pull start for several months with the reverse light on all the time and I guess that there is a relay that needs voltage to keep the reverse light off. Maybe my relay was stuck. Fresh battery and all is well.

I thought I would post this in case someone else searches and finds your thread.

Kevin.
