46. Motorhead since I tore my bicycle apart at 10 trying to make a minibike. (There was this kid...)
Boy mechanic at FRED'S DESERT CYCLE in Tucson at age 16. Maico 250, my only trophys, MX and TT.
Then I brought back a 911 Porsche from Germany, found it in a barn for $1,500, no clutch, total hot rod. Then I went Rock n Roll, tried lots of sports, all too much trouble, with limited availability. Skiing, sailing, and whitewater rafting are not that readily available in the Southwest. Couple of times a year for each, tops.
Then my 10 year old son wanted a 4-wheeler.
We live in the country, I thought it might help me get him to mow the lawn. I bought one a week later,,,,At first I said, now I don't need one of these fast ones.... now I am on a DS, and he is getting a Raptor, his third quad, my fifth. And the Sportsman will go when the new 660 Wolverine,
6-speed with IRS comes out.
This sport is the best. I can leave at noon,
have an awesome ride, and be home for dinner. Any week-end, a little snow, a little rain, a little heat, it just doesn't matter, it is still fun.
And, knock on wood, I havn't fallen down yet!!
Though my son has rolled off a 30 foot ravine, no damage to boy or bike.
