97 wolverine 350 stalling/lurching issue
#1
Bought this thing a year ago. Great machine, except when in any gear (including reverse) it lurches at idle... Hard... And if I turn down the idle it will lurch until it gets low enough to stall it. Seems like the secondary is not disengaging at all. Any tips or tricks on how to troubleshoot/resolve this issue? Any help would be appreciated very much.

All you can do is take a look at the centrifugal, could be a spring has broken and a shoe "out" all the time, or the one way clutch partly seized. If it has done it since you got it, someone could have put the one way in the wrong way round. Surprising how common this is. To check, engine off, roll the bike forwards in 1st, clutch should grab, roll the bike backwards, it should freewheel.

I have adjusted it, and definitely adjusted it beyond what it should withstand for increased freeplay and still grab at all... Still lurches

Looks like you are ready for new shoes too. Never known a spring to break, Yamaha must have bought a bad batch that week.
The centrifugal has nothing to do with the adjustable, multiplate clutch, so adjusting that makes no difference at all.
