11 tooth sprocket for raptor
#5
Not trying to be a wise *** but if anything under a 12 tooth sprocket would *DAMAGE* your bike why would they sell it??? I do agree and it is a fact that a smaller sprocket will cause the chain to wear out faster but who really cares. So your chain wears out in 3 years instead of 6, no biggy.

Talking with guys that have been around quads for awhile they say don't go lower than 12 tooth. They say it puts more pressure or loading on the counter shaft. I don't know for sure but I heeded their warnings and went with a larger rear sprocket.

I already have a 44 on the back with a 12 on front. I ride in rocky country so i went to 22" tires for more clearence, whitch gears me back up again. So the 11 tooth is my only option left. If all it does is where on the chain i can live with that. If anyone know from experience that this does not work please tell.
Thanks for the info everybody

I called sprocket Specialists in CA and asked them if they had any 12 tooth sprockets for the Raptor in stock and they said yes So I went ahead and ordered one for 12.99 plus $6 for shipping. I figured I'd see if they had a 11 tooth since it would be the same shipping price and they said yes they made an 11 tooth for the raptor so I bought it.

I have a kodiak. It is the best work machine I have ever had. You cannot play on it like you do a raptor if you know what i mean. With the sprocket and tires I am running I still run just under 70 mph. I just wanted a little lower 1st gear. I do not mind loosing a little top end we hardly ever race for top speed around here. I have the 11 tooth sprocket on the way i will let you guys know if it gives me trouble.
thanks again for your imput.
