I can't get that site to load without crashing my browser.

Also could not find wolverine specific wiring diagram. I did find bruin, warrior diagrams for that era and they both did have the neutral switch wired to the CDI so it certain could be limiting rpms.

I found a wiring diagram and I think it’s the parking brake switch that’s limiting my rpms. The manual says it limits your Rpm’s to 2300rpm and that sounds similar to my issue but the thing is…my switch is gone! It’s already been bypassed! I have no idea what to do now cause it’s legit gone. Maybe it’s shorting or something or there is still contact being made somehow? I’m stumped. Are there any Yamaha guys who know about bypassing the switch? Maybe the people before me did it wrong?

Default The conclusion

Just an update, in case anyone down the road ever encounters an issue like mine. So far, after far too long, I’ve discovered that my CDI box was swapped out for an older 1995 CDI box along with the entire wiring harness, which if I had to guess has made the ignition timing of the bike be close enough for it to start but not close enough for it to run right. Now I can be completely wrong and maybe the CDI swap is perfectly fine but that’s my best guess and I’ll probably never know because I’m selling the bike. I’ve had enough. Too many chefs in the kitchen of this Wolverine, looks like Frankenstein.

So if you’re having this same issue and youve read through this thread of nonsense, my best help is that something with the CDI box is whack. The electronic ignition timing is off.

Good luck my friends and thank you to everyone who has helped me. You guys are amazing!

And anyone who just read but didn’t respond… you suck.
