I want to shorten or remove my snorkel while retaining my airbox cover and put an outerwears over the opening. Has anyone done this? Which Outerwears did you use?

I don't know how good of an idea that would be. 2 reasons; first it would quickly get clogged up with dirt and second the outerwear does offer a fair amount of restriction to overflow. The resistance is no big deal when a whole outerwear is used over the filter but on a relatively small opening it would be noticeable. Just blow through one and you'll see what I mean. (let's try to refrain from childish comments on that part )

Good point. Thanks for helping me think that one through. Not a good idea.

Hey Blue, was wondering why you don't like your e-series? I'm thinking about getting one.

whit11, with an ET of 8.89 I think you better go for a little more than an e-series slip on. I plan to get the Graydon full exhaust and a pro-design filter and go from there. The e-series is ok but the discs divert exhaust to the sides which melts my cooler in my 6pack rack. If you add any pipe or remove your baffle don't forget to jet up.

Get a June 2001 issue of Dirt Wheels and look on pg. 188. It shows a good way to modify the stock airbox, best way I've seen without replacing the whole unit. Going to do it myself as soon as I get time. I've got the 6 Uni-vents but wish I'd have seen the larger stack before I did mine.Good luck.

yup, I also put 6 uni vents in my lid but mine looks much cleaner than the hack job in Dirt Wheels.
