I have a yamaha kodiac 4 wheeler that will idle just fine for a little while, 5 minutes, then just quit. It will start right back up. It has done this since I got it about 20 years ago. Great machine but a little aggravating. Any ideas what I should look for? Thanks

 

If it only does this when idling rather than when being used, don't bother, few carburettored quads will run for long on idle. With a single cylinder engine at idle, you are a couple of misfires away from the engine stalling, and the mixture at low revs isn't all that accurate, so a bit rich, or weak for a second or two and enough misfires occur to stall.
