Raptor chain advise please

I don't have a Raptor personally, but are you sure about that? Seems odd that they would make you take half the quad apart to get the chain off. Either way, you could always prop up the rear end and use a stiff brush and kerosene and just spin the rear wheels as you work your way around??? Look on both sides of the chain for the master link as it is only apparent from on side where the clip is.

Just about all companies now uses endless chains because with master link, the outer clip can wear off and cause the chain to separate. Adding master link is OK but keep you eye on the clip. Make sure the clip opening faces away from rotation.
If you deraided your chain, it's a good idea to replace it because in most cases, it can damage one of the side plates and later it might break.
I haven't heard of any case save either although it would be a add on. Generally, when the chain detrails (usually due to too much slack), it will break off the upper mount tab on the cases for the drive sprocket cover. In that case, make a small steel plate (with two 1/4" holes), that can be bolted to the upper sprocket seal protector bolt (just behind the drive sprocket) and to the cover. Use longer bolt with a lock nut on the inside.

I knew I saw an ad somewhere...so it took be a few days to find it again. Here is a 1/4" Billet Aluminum case saver for the Raptor. Check out the August issue of ATV Sport magazine on page 53. Sorry the price is not listed.
