If your like me you have often wondered why Yamaha had to put 2 carb's on the Raptor. I'm sure this alone has scared some people into not buying it. Just the sight of it is rather scary. Not to mention jetting this damn thing(what a pain in the a$$). Anyway I was talking to the guy's at Edelbrock and they are shooting for sometime in Sept. if all goes well. A new manifold will come with the kit(this would cure the blow off problem) it would be a 2 into 1 system, he was not sure for the air filter hook up as of yet this is what they are currently working on. I talked to him about a modded motor and he said they have a not changed a thing on the stock Edelbrock carb that was put on a 400ex. He said they went from a completly stock 400ex to a 440ex and haven't even touched the carb!! He Stated the more that is done to the motor the better the carb perform's, does this sound unbelivable or what!! I have had several of there auto carb's on my muscle cars, Jeep, and even on a 350 powered Toyota truck and they all preformed flawlessly. And now for the price he said they should be between 400-450, which to me is pretty fair, just thought I would let the fellow Raptor owner's know what is up.

I've been hearing about this carb for the Raptor for several weeks now. Hopefully it's everything Edelbrock says it will be! The 2-to-1 set up of this carb makes it worth the $450 alone.

You will love this carb I due. I have been working with Edelbrock on the carb for the DS650. Some of the things I like are.
1. Very easy to tune (all adjustments are on the outside of the carb).
2. Easy to start
3. Smooth ideal
4. Pulls hard from ideal to rev limiter (new CDI and valve springs on order)
5. Better throttle response
