He'll grow into this and eventually want +2 A-arms and the shocks that go with it. But for right now some lighter front springs would help. He IS jumping it, a progressive wind would still be a good idea. I measured the spring, 11 and a half inches long, 2 3/8 O.D.
0.317 wire diameter. Maybe something off a Blaster or ? I spoke to works shocks, nothing, and my dealer has a call into Yamaha, he may grow into it before we get a response. One friend wants him to carry a hundred pound sack of cement with him, that might help with the suspension, but my friend just wants to slow him down so HE can keep up!!
I gotta go to Las Cruces tomorrow to get my DS worked on, SO I pose this question... If my kid is old enough to handle a Raptor,
is he old enough to handle Hooters for lunch? It is a family establishment. It's not like I'm taking him out for a lap dance,,,just yet anyway.

Fourlix, explain something to me...How can a restaurant that bases it's concept on nice, big, young breasts be a family restaurant??? I have been in Quebec for about 12 years now so I am not up to speed on this restaurant chain. When visiting New York last year I wanted to go in and eat... but when the wife saw the "service" she gave me "the look"...you guys know the one. I still don't get it! The food looked good though!
I think young firm breasts and families go hand in hand.
The food is pretty good if you stay away from the trademark chicken wings. Last time I had a great grilled Mahi-Mahi sandwich and my friend had a really good Philly cheesesteak. The girls are cute, and cleavage is the signature gimmick of the restaurant chain. They smile and flirt and get big tips for thier big ,,well you get the idea.
Though I have taken my wife to a strip club, which did not exactly work out the way I planned, I have not taken here to Hooters. We'll just keep that out little secret... Skyler and I did not make it to this fine family establishment today, we left here at 5 AM and were back by 1PM. Maybe next time, he'll be 13 by then.
AND BY THE WAY,,,
He handles his Raptor just fine.
He WAS riding a 650 lb Polaris EXP 4x4, and I couldn't keep up with him then either. He's had the Raptor 2 weeks now, has a jump in the back set up, he's going over 40 feet about 6 feet high, total control,,, no heel clicks,, yet.

2 things come to mind:
1) What is a 12y.o, 85lb. person doing on a Raptor? The Government Safety Comission would love to meet you
2)I thought there was some kind of age limit to go into a HOOTERS!!

Well if the foods good I will go down to Plattsburg, NY and est there...for teh food od coarse! I may have to ask your son for jumping lessons. I can't even jump 5 feet without chickening out!
Good luck and keep that kid riding no matter what some people may say! What I would have given at that age to ride with my dad...
40 feet??!! I really need to learn...

Hooters is a "family" restraunt. Although it does have more of a sports bar environment to it. To base your opinion of the establishment simply on the size of the servers "frontal lobes" is simply YOUR outlook on things. If the women were naked or something, then sensorship would come into play. If you go to McDonalds and the counterperson has enourmous breasts, does that mean it is wrong to take your kid there?
Simply put, If your kid is somewhat normal, he will probably drool, have a good time, and then tell all his friends about it. The wife might be a little angry with you for a few days, but you will probably live through the ordeal. As for the riding the raptor thing, If someones skill level is high enough to command something, then let them go. Einstiens parents didnt tell him that it was to dangerous to play around with the theory of relativity (or whatever it is called).. A person will grow to the environment that is set forth for them. Any good parent should know that. Sorry I cant help you with what kinda shocks to use. Aftermarket would seem the way to go, as they do custom setups for your weight.

for now blaster shocks work well plus lowers the bike quite a bit along with flipping the rear shock arm over, looks awsome and keeps bike from wheeling so bad only down fall is getting hung up in deep ruts (BOTTOM OUT)ACTUALLY DID THIS NO BULL!!! WARRIOR SHOCKS WORK ALSO JUST SITS A LITTLE HIGHER.
