Bent Axle on Wolverine, need help
#11
I too bent my axle on my Wolverine....I caught an old barbed wire fence..Funny thing....it bent the axle, but did not puncture the tire. I took it to a machine shop....they straightened and balanced it for $35... a lot cheaper than a new axle......that was over a year ago....working fine.......

If you are looking at the bike from the back, take the right side tire off, remove the cotter pin andnut from the center of the axle, remove the flange that the tire and rim bolt to, then with a socket over the theads of the end of the axle tap the axle out to the leftonce it is out and you want to remove the rear end ,it has to be unbolted from the front and the right side just watch you don't lose the coupler between the rear end and the drive shaft, once it is off it is a joke .It took me around 2 1/2 -3 hours to tear it down and put it back together (with a days waiting for parts in between. And as for straitening the axle, I did mine and haven't had a problem yet ,it all depends on what kind of terrian your on I guess. I hope this helps
