The maier plastic has a goofy mesh grill instead of the nice luvered stock grill. the rest looks good though. There was a guy who had a pic of the orange raptor on a post a while back. same thing just yellow. I orderd yellow also.

I bought a set of yellow from rocky mountain. They fit very well for Majer I cant hardly belive it. The holes were even drilled. But the grill is ugly. Its not like that picture of the orange one. I was a soild front piece then they put several grooves where the grill goes to make a V-shape. I cut the whole grill out and put a screen on it like the picture. I dont have a digital camera but I am having some graffix made and he will post the pics. on his site when he is done. I will post them when there up.

i agree about the Maier stuff. their stuff really stinks. however, i was desperate for new colors so i took the 2 hr drive to grass valley, CA where their plant is. WOW! very impressive. here's the deal- they have a brand new state-of-the-art factory and man, is it pretty! i called earlier in the week and when i showed up they were expecting me and i was given a tour around. they bought BRAND NEW 5-axis CNC machines and are using them on the new or higher-end stuff. the Raptor is their HIGHEST PRIORITY right now. best machines and best techs. it shows. the finish is still matte, unstead of high gloss factory stuff, but it looks OK. duncan racing gets a good sheen on it with silicone-based stuff ( STP, armor-all etc)and this is what maiers says to do. all the holes are perfect and there is no variation...i would hope so w/ new top-line 5-axis machines. btw, the older bike plastic and cheaper products still are on the old machines.

anyway, the colors are beautiful and i had a hard time choosing. it was fun and they layed out about 5 colors and i did different combos right on the factory floor. very very nice people and w/ the raptor, they are trying to improve their reputation. i think they did well. i finally settled on yellow front and black rear...SWEEEETTTTT. my frame is powdercoated jet-black w/ prismatic microflack. SOOO trick.

However, the front grill is UGLY UGLY and i too, am cutting it out and putting in a screen grill. hey JAson454, how did you MOUNT the mesh to the back of the grill area?? curious to know.
the plastic is very thick (high density polyethylene)and rigid and will not flex as easy as the factory stuff. also, NO FUNKY Blue-shade CREASES!!!! stuff wont crease. and finally, you break it... maiers will replace it all FREE for 1 year. Kudo's and job well done to MAIERS !!!

I used some nice stainless phillips bolts. Drilled at the top and the bottom through the plastic in the center.
