Wheel Spacers- Are they so bad for the axel or the axels are too weak?
#1
I want to make my Banshee back end wider, but dont want to buy a longer axel. I do ride in the dunes, so the question is, IF I dont jump to hard or take a whoop to fast, are the wheel spacers a good thing ? I mean I have pound on the stock one really hard with no problems at all. What do U think?

Think of it this way; even if you use the spacers and EVENTUALLY bend your axle what are you really out. The spacers don't cost much and if you decide not to use them again after that, you can sell them on Ebay. Then you have a choice between buying a used stock axle or going with a longer aftermarket one. I bought a used stock axle for my Quadzilla for only $100. Banshees are much more common place so you shouldn't have to pay any more than that.
The bottom line is, if you want to lengthen your axle by using spacers , then do it. Chances are, the small amount of added bending force created by this longer "torque arm" will not cause you any problems anyway. If the axle does bend then there is a good chance it would have bent even without the spacers.
