I was wondering what the top speed is for the Yamaha Blaster. Also if I ride the Blaster about 4 times a week how long would it be before I had to do a Topend Job(Piston and Rings) on the Blaster. I will be riding trails and dirt roads. Thanks Matt.

The top speed of the Yamaha Blaster is about 54mph....but you can add airfilter, pipes, carb. mods., etc. which will take that top speed way up!!! You won't have to do a topend rebuild for a while as long as you mix the gas and oil right.

I've been severely beating on my blaster for the last 4 or so months, at least 4 times a week for an hr. or more, also alot of practicing jumps and playing in sandpits (which is pretty hard on the engine) to date I have not had to replace the piston, I probally will sometime this summer but not because I have to because I want to do it before its too late. A new piston does not cost very much, at the most $100. Anyways its had at least a year of HARD riding and its still extremely tight. Also if you buy a new blaster it is oil injected so you will not have to worry about mixing the gas and oil, just top off the tank once a week or so and you'll be all set.

magazines say that blasters go 54mph, but magazines lie for safety reasons. a stock 01 blaster can probably hit 60mph.

No, 50-55 sounds about right, no way a Stock blaster goes 60mph.

i have to agee with brokemybanshee, a stock blaster can do in the 50-55 range. I dont no about mags lying about top speeds. You can get hurt on any quad. But im not too sure on that one.
