im in the market for an aftermarket exhuast for my raptor. i want something that sounds pretty mean and has some rap to it. my friend has a r series on his ex and it sounds awesome but i wonder if it sounds similar on the raptor. ive heard a raptor with the fmf and i was not impressed with the way that one sounded.

go with a White Bros. or DMC/Duncan Double Barrel, or Curtis Sparks X-6
one of my 400ex's has the DMC and it is the best sounding pipe i have heard.

Otterbob, what about the sound of the FMF that you didn't like? Just wondering, because the one I ordered is in, I am supposed to pick it up either today or tomorow. I heard a raptor at the dealer with one on, but that was indoors. It would probably sound different outside. It did sound pretty good inside though, kind of like a street bike.

TC Racings exhaust sounds reall good! Its loud though but by far the best sounding exhaust I've had and the performance gain is tremendous for a 4stroke. I'm sure Doug Gusts new Suzuki 4stroke sounds similar if you have heard it at a national.

the fmf i heard had more of thump to it, it sounded alot like stock just louder, as if you had taken the spark arrestor out. it really dont sound too bad but when i hear a white bros. r series or e series it gives me a semi. i am looking for that rappy sound, almost along the lines of a two stroke.

I can only speak for my GYTR Carbon Fiber Exhaust because its the only aftermarket exhaust i've heard on a Raptor. But I love the way it sounds. Its very loud and gives it a lower, more barking type of sound.

HMF Engineering for the price you cant beat the sound. I have only heard one other aftermarket pipe on a raptor the big gun. I like the sound of my hmf better.

HMF is at http://www.hmfengineering.com
I just sent them Email a couple of days ago, and they don't have a spark arrestor for their Raptor muffler yet, but they are working on it (translation, who knows when).

Good luck,
Lorrin
