Mudman, that's very true. I wasn't saying for sure that this would happen, only trying to come up with some ideas as to the new ATVs they'll be releasing.

Although, I still say, if this was just a general offer on Yamaha's part, why aren't the offering it for more than just those three ATVs?

Dunno... It just seems a little weird to me, that's all...

I think they will have a replacement for the Wolverine. They will probably emphasize the sport market since the Raptor went so well. This also follows the same pattern as last year (spy photos of the Raptor introduced through the summer followed by a fall release). The Polaris folks have a good corner on the market with 4x4 sports and Yamaha would rip on that market with a liquid cooled, larger displacement Wolverine (likely close to 500cc). I'd bet they probably bored out the Kodiak top end and put independent rear suspension on it. This would probably help them feel better as the Grizzly seems to be falling behind a bit in the tests. Dirtwheels/4whlATV Action are on crack to even speculate the Raptor engine would make it on a 4X4 - why would Yamaha create competition for it's own flagship? Any bets?

Bad news..... It seems to me that every year Yamaha has the accessories give away, at least in California anyway. I know when I bought my first new quad in 1995, Yamaha had that same special going on, (of course it was only $200 back then), and in 1996 when I bought another new quad from Yamaha, I got $300 in accessories then. The strange part was in 2000 they did not have the $300 accessories deal... but I bought a new quad from them anyway.

I hope that you guys are right about new models comming out....

You would sell your Blaster "As soon as possible" If they came out with a 250 4stroke version? Why? You do realize it would be a low tech, heavy and sluggish low powered motor, the Blaster in its current form is the best (motor wise) it could possibly get.

Gary,

It wouldn't have to be low tech would it? Although it would be a bit peaky, the YZF 250 would be a killer motor in a little blaster. That new, high-tech 4 stroke seems to have no problems at all taking the 2-stroke 125 bike and we all know that they have some zip to them.

the blaster weighs around 320 i think. If your saying it wouldnt be a good, quick quad with a 250 4 stroke, thats wrong. everybody would compare it to the new honda 250ex, thats wrong again. they are totally different machines. but we all have to wait and see.

I highly doubt that Yamaha will put the YZ250F engine in the blaster considering they have never put one of their dirtbike engines in a 4 wheeler, let alone redesigned a previous model. But if they did, that thing would move, because it would weigh less than a 400EX and have as much power. Don't bet on it.

But isn't the blaster's 200 motor the same motor taken from the cycle, except it's air cooled? Yamaha used a pre-existing engine design to keep the cost down on the blaster. It wouldn't surprise me if yamaha will borrow the 250 motor from the dirt bike.
