warrior VS. 300ex.....

You have got to be kidding me here....
The warrior and the 300ex ..ther is no comparison. The 300ex does everything much better then the warrior. I ride in Indianna where the woods are vary tight and mainly ride with pro 250r riders. So we ride vary fast. The 300ex is the only machine I know that can out turn a 250r. Amazingly my buddy and I switched off on his 300ex when his 250r was striped down for a rebuild last year. The 300ex is much quicker in the woods, lighter, and more reliable than the warrior. My buddies first atv was a warrior years ago and from what he said they are junk. Depends on what kind of riding you are doing but, the warrior has only top speed by a couple digits if your lucky. In the woods the 300ex has the potential to smoke the warrior. Don't believe me compare the geometry and weight set-up. The warrior just weighs way to much. If you dial in the suspension on a 300ex you can throw that bike around corners faster than almost any bike out there. The only thing that holds the 300ex back from any other high performance machine is its engine displacement of only 300cc. But then you wouldn't expect it to outrun a 400ex or 660r now would you? I'm vary suprised on how many people actually think the warrior can even compare to the 300ex, Take the guys advice above and just ride them both.... I promise you will like the 300ex much better. Anybody else that says anything else has spent vary little time on both....

hnda400ex,
I had the oppertunity to see a 300ex in action this weekend. Four of us went riding...Polaris Sport 400L, Yamaha Banshee, Yamaha Warrior, and the Honda 300ex. It is deffinatly a great machine, with looks to match. I think Honda was right on with their EX styling. The guy had just bought the quad so he didn't want to race it (with my friends Warrior) since it wasn't broken in. It's deffinatly a lot shorter than the Warrior. It looked like it could do some pretty good wheelies (the guy wasn't used to it yet, but he brought it up a few times). I also didn't really get to see it's suspension in action, but it's gotta be as good as the Warriors without a doubt. However, a big flaw is it's ground clearance. To look under the Warrior, and then Under the EX, you can barely notice a difference, but going through the trails and brooks he was hitting bottom like crazy. I'm sure a more experienced rider can compansate for that by selecting different routes, but in the mud it's kid of difficult. If I had to choose between these two, I don't know which one I would pick. Neither of them had the power that I like, so I guess I wouldn't get either. I guess it just depends on what you want. I know I didn't really answer any questions 100%, but that's cause I didn't get much seat time on either one. Just my thoughts.

Hey man.. All these people are saying that the Warrior is faster than a 300EX. In a straight line, yes, the warrior IS faster. The 300EX is a far better machine than the Warrior. And another thing, the only reason the Warrior is faster than the 300EX is 6th gear. My friend has a 300EX, and I was on a guy's Warrior, and we both had ours wrapped out in 5th gear, and the 300EX was leaving me. When I shifted into 6th, I caught up, and passed the 300EX. The Warrior I was riding had a Cobra pipe, and jets.. While the 300EX had a SuperTrapp IDS2, K&N, and Jetting. The 300EX will crank out better track time than a Warrior, but it all depends on the rider, and his or her style/capability. I am not telling you which machine to buy.. But, if it was me, I would buy a 300EX. I'm sure the person would be happy with either machine.

ok, to everyone that says a 300ex handles better than a warrior, no it doesnt. without a rider both bikes will just sit there. Handling all has to do with how skilled the rider is and how he can control his quad. Ride each bike and see which one feels best to you. if you are a bigger person you will probably like the warrior better, becuz the 300ex is smaller.

<< Anybody else that says anything else has spent vary little time on both.... >>
I have owned both and spent plenty of saddle time on both. They are different machines like many posted. But the 300ex is not so great as to be called the best of the two.
The warrior is a larger bike...It fit's me better than the 300ex, which is short and stubby. I was hitting my knees on the bars of the 300ex. Though the top speeds vary by only a couple of mph's, The warrior feels like it has more power. The 300ex used to hit the rev limiter way before the warrior(but it is geared differently). Since the 300ex has such a short wheel base...It is a handful in any good sized whoops. But then again....neither machine was really made for racing to begin with. There is hardly any adjustment on the suspension.....You can stiffin the springs...that's about it.
About the only thing I can think of is that the 300ex has a better balance point for riding a wheelie. And was a bit easier to handle in the air.
You will have fun on either machine...just don't hope for an all out dragster. If a dragster is what you want...then go with something a bit bigger in displacement. Both machines wil nickle and dime you to death once you start modding it. I do feel that the warrior responds better to mods than the 300. Now if yamaha took the chain adjustment procedure from the 300ex and slapped it on the warrior...there would be no question at all which to buy.
