Raptor vs DS650
#1
I'm certain this topic has been covered before but after getting my first DS650 ride this past weekend I had to tell about it. I could just some it up by saying there is no way the DS is faster than a Raptor, but i will get a few more thing's off my chest. My best friend and I went riding this past weekend and ran into this fellow with the special edition DS. After B.S'in for a while he agreed to let us take a spin on his ride. The DS and Raptor are both bone stock. The first thing I noticed about the DS is how early the rev limiter kicked in. The DS is definately fast but the power is totally different than a Raptor. The Raptor "feels" much faster when your on it and the DS's power doesn't come on until third gear. After repeated runs with different riders on each machine the Raptor was the consistant winner except for the first time the DS rider dragged the Raptor. On his first drag against his own DS he stood my buddy's Raptor straight up! I just want put my two cents in on the my experience.

well i think part of the reason, or the main reason the raptor both feels and is faster is the weight of the DS. It's just very heavy.
I mean why when I drive my BMW at 90 I feel nothing, but the Explorer and 90 starts to shake (and the tires start to tear <<hehe>> and I feel I'm going to fast.

90% of the times it's the rider. I own a DS and ride with 2 Raptors. When they were bone stock it was whom ever got the hole shot. The loser didn't control the power as good as the winner did. So, blame the rider not Yamaha or Bombardier or Honda for that fact. One last thing, a little story to backup my statements.
My brother with his 400ex dragged my DS with a rider with little saddle time. ( he rides a warrior ). And lost both ways, down & back. Then I hooped on it and whooped him 4 or 5 bike lenghes. Because I have hours & hours of riding time and know the bike.
