I recently blew a front tire and would like some feedback on what aftermarket tire people are using and the results. I am thinking about Bandits or Maxxis. I heard the Bandits are harder and last longer is this true? The front Bandits are more square looking and the maxxis are rounded so the Bandits look like they would sit lower. I am not sure about the tread pattern on the rear Bandit.

Hello,
The Bandits are not as tall as their advertised height, the 22 inch tall rears are only 20 - 20.5 inches. I also know someone who sent their Bandits back because they wanted the extra ground clearance and got Maxxis Razr's. He said that the Bandits were MUCH heavier. I got all new Razr's, and I love the rears, but I just mounted the fronts yesterday. The razr's handle and slide much better than the stock tires, and the 22 inch height keeps me from hitting rocks every few minutes like I used to.

good luck,
Lorrin

I'm having bandits mounted on my Raptor as I type this. 23 inch tall fronts and 22 inch tall rears. I will post on the true height later tonight or in the morning after I pick it up. The reason I went with the bandits was for the puncture resistence and also for a little added height.

Jad, how did you blow the stock tire?

Also picking up the 2002 Grizzly on Friday, it's in.

I have Bandit XCs on both my Warrior and Raptor and they really work well. Side-by-side the Bandit 22" fronts are slightly taller than the stock Dunlop 21". I gained 1/4 inch ground clearance (measured before/after) after installing the 22" bandits. The "braking bars" on the Bandits make a HUGE positive difference in the handleing and cornering and the XCs have very tough sidewalls. I ride in the desert not MX and these are very well suited for nasty, rocky, rough stuff. I get flats with anything else (out here in the dez).....add some monkey snot (for thorns) and you'll be set !

I just measure the Bandit XC's on my Raptor and the 23" fronts measure 21 1/2" and the 22" rears measure 20 3/4" That's alright by me though as the Kevlar belt is what I was after and the tread looks like it will work well for my style riding.

Arlan, I blew out the front tire when I hit a capped pipe sticking out of the ground(one where you would shut off someones water from outside of the house)

Leel, I asked for the weights on the tires and the Badit XC fronts are about two pounds heavier and the rears are almost five pounds. I want the lighter ones but I'am afraid the Maxxis will wear too quick. Anyone know how fast they wear?
