my friend bought a 2000 warrior. about a week later i went to his house to have a ride. i was looking around at everything seeing how well it was built. i heard that they have a crappy airbox design so i wanted to see this for myself. we took the airbox lid off and guess what? there was no air filter on it! i asked him what the hell he wsa doing. he said that it would be alright because they were running two stoke gas and oil from their boat!!!!!!!!!!!! he said it was enough lube to keep it running fine. they never grease anything. rarely change the oil. they run it till something gives and then cuss at it because it is a piece of crap!!!!!!!! i'm telling him it is all his fault and now he is saying i don't know a damn thing about quads and that i am lieing to him. this pisses me off so much. i can't stand people who never take care of their quads. just thought i'd get that off my chest. please reply your thoughts

Just let him tear his stuff up and when it brakes just sit there w/a smug "told ya so" look. Its his money he's wasting.

Haha, reminds me of my Uncle. He leaves his sleds outside all summer long uncovered, then drives them around on his lawn and in the gravel for a few minutes, then parks it and leaves it. He never ever does any kind of preventive maintainance on them or anything. The thing that really ticks me off is the fact that he NEVER has problems with them. I couldn't keep my Mach Z 800 running last winter and I baby that thing so bad. While mine is in the shop his are running perfect. Man, some guys have all the luck. Later.

I like the "told ya so" reply when he exploses his engine. You can make things faster by dropping some sand in his airbox.
Good thing to do...
say "ok, you say I'm wrong...start your engine, and I start mine". I drop a cup of sand directly in front of your intake, and you do the sme on my quad. I say yours is gonna stop, and mine will keep on running." You'll be right!!
ahah. That's a little mean though. It's really if you hate him very much...and can run away!!

Hey,
Tell him I have a good powerband for sale, and it will make his sandsucker run great again! and if he likes that, maybe I could get rid of some of these billet muffler bearings lol

Next spring when he goes to start it and the mice have the cylinder full of grass clippings, old news papers, dry dog food and acorns he may understand what you were trying to say.
Then again maybe not

This guy sounds like a moron and does not deserve a quad! Why would you even put boat oil in it to begin with? One day it'll die.

Take it with a grain of salt so to say.... It's his machine...you just lose a riding partner if it timebombs on him.

On another note though, I used to have a jet boat that ran on the same mix and yama- lube that I ran in the banshee... worked just fine.
As long as it's 2 stroke oil (premix) and is mixed consistantly...It really should not be a problem.

As far as the filter goes...there again...His quad. Just shake your head and drive off.
