how long does 2 stroke last

I assume you are talking about the top end. It really depends on how you ride it. If you ride it hard year round you probably should replace the rings yearly and keep an eye on the piston. If you are a more casual rider then you can probably do it every couple of years. You will know when it is time as the power will drop. It isn't that hard to do, especially after you have done it once or twice.
