How to put a banshee on a diet??
#1
What are some of the biggest bang for your buck items that you can change on a banshee to lighten it up. Was wondering what kind of weight differance there was in stock and aftermarket swingarms and things like that.

--Ditch the parking brake mess...get a new clutch perch too when you're done...
--Dump the "safety" net BS on the footpegs
--Cut the front fenders.
--Toss the TORS.
--No air-box or radiator overflow rez.
--Some of the aftermarket suspension components are lighter. They use stronger materials which allows for thinner material for a given strength. Saves wgt that way.
--Say bye-bye to the front bumper.
--Drink lite beer and fill the frame with helium

If your drag racing, loose the front brakes, you can cut all the extra fender brakets off, which may not lighten it to much but cleans up the frame qutie a bit. A chromemoly arm will way about half of what a comparable steel one will. You will probably save 8-10 lbs with that. Chromemoly a-arms, c-moly subframe, or if you got the coin, get a complete c-moly frame!!

If you look at the frame above the foot pegs, you will see where the lighter section of tubing goes back to support the back of the seat and the fenders. I don't know if lonestar sells just a sub, but some guys i know cut thiers off and build a new one out of moly and weld it on...
