I don't really know much about engines and what not but I can tell something isn't right with mine. When I'm going through the gears it feels like something is slipping. It revs high like it's slipping then it grabs and takes off. I've been reading about the tranny problem and the last 4 on my vin in 4038. I bought the extended warranty from Warranty Direct. If I can't figure out what is wrong this weekend then I'm gonna take it to the shop. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks

nigman,

Does it only feel like it's slipping in one gear or all of them?

That's what's happening with mine. When I shift from first to second, let the clutch out nice and neat and then punch it. It revs real high like it's spinning tire then it grips. I think my clutch might be going OR it's that horrible problem that I don't even want to talk about(tranny)!!

your clutch plates are fryed! Go buy new ones or you can adjust it a little bit looser and it will work a little better...can't clutch these things like a 2-smoke.......I figured that out with mine.......mine are gone too.

ERICsRAPTOR,

Yep, that's your clutch, thier gone! I went with a Hinson Basket when I changed mine and used the Barnett clutch kit too. The basket is what helps to keep the clutch from frying, because it has slots in the ears of it alowing oil to get to the plates. $225 for the basket and $100 for the clutch kit (includes all the plates and heavier springs).
