When I installed a motion pro setup on my stock carbs a couple years ago I never noticed the slides go up past the windows. I also run the same motion pro cable and twist with my 34mm pj carbs just fine. About your quad running lean on top, you need to richen the main jet. the needle affects from roughly 1/4 throttle up to 3/4.

Thanks for the information everybody. I'm going to try 4 degrees(chicneater). As for the jetting its running awesome now(Ryan99). I did a couple a couple of plug stops and its just a little grey(perfect). I also have been informed that the issue with the carb caps may only be on newer twist kits with stock carbs. They're (Motion Pro) looking into it. I will keep post any follow ups I recieve. Thanks

The timing can be advanced 4 degrees with the stock plate. The plate needs to be removed and the 3 holes for the bolts that hold it onto the engine need to be slotted to the right I think. I had mine done by Ohton Racing the same time he done my 370 long rod. Most competent machine shops can do it for you.

If you are going to modify your stock plate, you need to slot the holes to the left as you are looking at them, so as you bolt the plate back into the case, you will be able to rotate it clockwise to advance the timing. You will need to machine or file each part of the plate so the mounting bolts will sit flush back bown on the plate as if in the stock location. Slot the holes as far as you can, but leave some material there so when you bolt it back up it does not break or split when you tighten it up.
The flywheel nut should also be torqued back on at 55-60 ft lbs., then after the first ride, recheck the nut.
