How does the new Grizzly do when it comes to fuel consumption. A good friend of mine just bought one after owning a fuel miser SP500 for about 4 years. Is he going to have to start carrying extra gas for those 100 mile rides that we do? He's curious and so am I.

I can't believe it. 78 other people have looked at this thread and not one answer about the fuel miledge of the 660 Grizz. What is it, a state secret or an embarassment?

I bet everyone viewing would also like to know, that's why I'm here. Maybe there all so new that not one has gone though a full tank yet. No, the owners are to embarassed to tell. In 4x2 it shouldn't be too bad if you're not a hammer. How could you own an 02 Grizzley and not be hammering it some? Oh please let us know.

I;ll go with the embaressed. Some guys on here have been bragging for 3 weeks about their new machines. That should be plenty of time to put some miles on them and let us know about fuel consumption. Heck when I first go my Cat I put almost 400 miles on it the first month.

With 660 cc's your not going to go 100 miles on a tankful. I can't do that on my Warrior. With all that horsepower it's got to be thirsty. Don't forget the more horses you have the more they will drink!!!

It has a large fuel tank, almost five and one half gallons so it should go a long ways on one tank

I have gone 85 miles on my 00 500 sportsman and not once have i ever used reserve. I was getting kinda worried and did find a pump and put in 4 gallons. It like a 5 or something tank. Keep in mind i was trail ridding NOT playing in the mud! In the mud it goes quick..

Fuel consumption on the Grizzly is not a problem. Last weekend I did 39 miles of all trail using 4 wheel drive most of the day. At fillup, I used about 2.5 gallons of gas. At that rate, I could have done close to 80 miles of trail riding, but my body would not have lasted beyond 50 miles. 100 miles a day has to be dirt roads and the Grizzly might do it. Don't worry about running out of gas with the Grizzly in a one day ride.

I don't think fuel consumption will be that bad. I can only speak for my Raptor, but being that it has the same basic engine I think it should be similar. The other day I was riding pretty much non stop along the river for about 4 hours, full throttle most of the way. The next day I rode around my house for about an hour and again the next day too, and never put it to reserve, and the grizzly's tank is almost twice the size so I don't think all day trips will be a problem.
