Why do racing quads look like they have such a huge wheel base? Maybe its just me, but how much would it cost to extend the width of my back and front tires?

The reason it looks like they have a bigger wheelbase is because they add a longer swingarm. Not Tires! I don't think anyway. I know about the swingarm.

they have the larger wheelbase and width to improve stability. What is easier to tip over, something thin or something wide? Of course, if it is short and thin, it will be easier to tip over around turns. The added size also tends to make it handle better in the air. The best way of doing this is extended a-arms, extended swingarm, and an extended axle. Those spacers and extensions you see in magazines work, but they aren't going to hold up as good.

Thanks for all the useful information. Can anyone tell me the price ranges for these extensions? I am just a kid so I don't have loads of money. Thanks.

A swingarm extension will run about $120 and wheel spacers are about $70 a pair.
