American Star a-arms
#1
Has anyone put american star a-arms on their raptor? I've seen them for sale for $390. Are they as good as other brands? Also, what is the benefit of +1" forward a-arms? Most of the raptor a-arms I've seen are not moved forward.

How about the Banshee set?
Are the "cheap" ones made of Chromoly? What are the bearings made of? Will the stock brake lines reach?
I was planning on calling Magic Racing about them, but from previous posts regarding Magic Racing, I don't expect friendly advice.

Houser racing's arms are going to be pretty hard to beat. Strong Arms are not chromoly and are not as strong. Talk to Marty at the Quad Shop, he really hooked me up with a great package deal.

I have the american Star +3 A-arms on my Raptor. They are really nice. All heim joints top and bottom. They make 2 types of A-arms. One is recreation, which is made of mild steel and sell for $400. The other is full race, which are made of 4130 chromoly and sell for $650. You can see pictures of them on my site.

American Star Racing actually make 4 different types of arms for the Raptor
1] $429 retail, mild steel, camber adjustment only
2] $499 retail, mild steel, fully adjustable
3] $569 retail, chrome moly, camber adjustment only
4] $649 retail, chrome moly, fully adjustable, lifetime, unconditional waranty
Top quality arms, and stronger than any that I've seen.

What really made the decision for me was actually seeing a set of strong arms in person. The welds just are not what I expect from a professional. What makes me think that chromo is the way to go? The fact that everybody that makes A-arms uses chromo in their "race" arms and mild in their "rec" arms. The last thing I want to be thinking about when coming down from a large jump is the strength of my chassis. O
