Sport Riding tips?
#1
Here's the deal guys-
I am getting a sport quad soon, and have pretty much decided on the Raptor. I have logged many a mile on our King Quad and Quadrunner which are good quads, but lets face, it sporty they are not. There lies my problem, I have never ridden a sport quad before. I know enough to not go WFO the first time I get on it, and that there will be a learning curve. I understand the basics of shifting your weight to turn etc, but what I have not been able to find sites about is the stuff that make sport quads fun(powerslides etc). Please post how to pull off stuff like powerslides, getting sideways in corners etc. Thanks.

Powerslide would be the same as on your King Quad. As you enter into a turn give it lots of throttle and lean into your turn. When jumping, as near the end of the launching pad make sure you DO NOT let off the throttle. If anything, give it just a hair more throttle.

It is kinda trial and error to learn how to do all that stuff. The Rator is kinda narrow so it is kinda harder to keep her stable on powerslides. The way I powerslide is to have some speed just not too much and I jerk the handlebars sideways enough to turn the quad sideways and slide the back tires. I like to see how far I can slide so me and my friends always have competitions. Just remeber to keep you weight on the outside so you won't flip. For some more tips come here.

With the stock tires on the Raptor you wont be doing powerslides unless you really know how to work a clutch. Powerslides is one of the most fun things to do on a quad besides wheelie, once you get it down you will riding faster and faster!
