I FINALLY DID IT!!

Well guys guess i am done here in the Yamaha forum. Sold the Raptor today. Just couldnt take it any more. Problem after problem. Chains, trans, clutch, clutch basket, busted engine cases, axle you name it! I fixed it for the last time. Gonna go back to old reliable. Might not be as fast or have as much power but atleast when i wanna ridei can. Raptors aint bad if your a trail rider or rec rider but if you ride agresively or race the things just cant handle it. I will never buy another yamaha again well maybe a shee since i owned 2 and they never broke but every other yammy was crap. Cant beleive i spent that kind of money on one then went and stuck another 4grand in it in mods for what? A loss of 4grand is what. And the constant agony of my buds calling to go riding and i always say sorry dudes craptors broke again. ohwell. You learn from experience. Raptors just are not made for clearing 80ft triples and wide open style riding. Maybe if yamaha stuck the R&D into their quads like they do their bikes they would have something. Yamaha has always made the fastest quads but only if they last til the end of the race. Lets put it this way for the money i spent repairing i could have boughten a bullet proof 250R or LT250R and spent more time riding than wrenching.

You should forward a copy of your post to Yamaha and cc: Honda. Yamaha probably won't get the hint, since it's obvious from my dealings with them that they could care less about their customers. So far my Raptor has been OK with the exception of the uselessly soft axle, but I'm not really looking forward to the future.
