Just wondering if anyone has heard of any "good" news about aftermaket carbs for the Raptor?

While speaking with several engine builders, one of them had tried the fcr carbs and they weren't impressed by the performance.

Another (recognized Raptor) engine builder is promoting and using a 45mm mikuni flat and is claiming an approx 8 hp gain on a Raptor w/ similar engine mods as I'm running (high comp, +2mm piston, cam, head port, etc, etc). Cost of carb with the needed intake design is $750.-, ouch!

Anyone "hear" or "know" of anything regarding available carbs for the Raptor?

 

Edelbrock is supposed to be coming out with one. That's all I know.

 

Edelbrock is working on one. They are testing a new intake manifold for the Raptor. They also are working on one for the Warrior

 

For the money aftermarket carbs are not worth one dollar. With a single, you will see more bottom end torque but less top end. With the CFR carbs, etc., you will not see enough gain to justify spending $800+. I have been there and "done that" with a single and with the FCR's.
