Rear brake cable sticking

Deb, A breath of fresh air to see a post from a female of the opposite sex(the redundancy is intentional) .
I am not all familiar withe Kodiac. However, if it has drum brakes as opposed to discs, it is bossible that you have accumulated mud, debris, or rust from the above inside the hub. This could prevent the cable from doing it's job of activating the brake shoes. If your rear brake is indeed a drum type, I would dis-assemble the hub and determine if it is free and clear of the
above obstructions. If not removal of same should clear up your problem. While you're in there, use some WD40 to free up any moving parts including the springs, takingg care not to get any on the shoes themselves.
If you do a lot of riding in mud or water you would be wise to do this maintainance quite often; it's the price you pay.
Come back again, this forum NEEDS YOU.
