I'm going to need a set of wheels for my Grizzly before long, but I'm not sure what I'll end up getting. I do know that there is no way in hell I'm spending $100 apiece for ITP Magnums though, so that is out of the question. I'll probably end up with ITP chrome, but I also want to look into the Douglas aluminum. Anyone know what sizes these come in? I haven't ever seen where they make a 12" rim.

I got Douglas 12" aluminum .190's for $69 each from Rocky Mountain ATV. 7" wide in front, 8" in back. The rear wheels I mounted backwards or the rear track would be 53" wide, inverted 49" (with Spidertrax 25x12.5x12) and the valve stems clear everything. The front is 46+" wide with the rear tires. Remember, the new Grizz is only 43.5" wide stock! Seems to me there could be a better wheel combination, but this is pretty good. Yamaha worked hard to keep the weight down, I couldn't see putting steel wheels on it. It looks great, handles like a totally different machine, powerslides like it should, and no spacers. I would definately go with the .190 aluminum. If you went to steels, it would be like downgrading your quad.

Do you have wheel spacers on your 660 or do the rims really make it that wide? I think that the Douglas aluminum might be the way to go. I already have some 27" Claws that I want to mount. I like having 2 sets of wheels and tires though, so putting them on the stockers is out of the question.

fourlix,
Did you intentionally buy your wheels to make the quad wider? The reason Im asking is Im about to get some tires/wheels for my Griz..probably 589MT's on .190 aluminum....if I tell them its for a 2002 Grizzly will I get the proper offset?

I got to looking tonight, and I don't think that my 27" Claws will fit on the 660 without lifting it or something. I'm not in favor of ever doing that either. They are on AC wheels right now, but I stuck them up beside the stock and they would have to just tear the fenders off. I don't see any way around it. Good thing I didn't rush out and buy wheels. Now what the hell am I going to do with these damn tires?

Andy,
Well I guess I down graded my Grizz, but I put ITP steel crome on mine with 28" outlaws. I had to do a little triming on the fenders where they come in towards the back tires. It turned out looking like it was done from the factory and it gave me about 5/8" extra clearance from the rear tires. The front has plenty of tire room. My dealer sold me the ITP cromes for $50.00 a piece, since I bought the bike from him. I took my spacers off and sold them. I don't have any comments on the new tires yet, been too busy working to try them out. Three weeks from now I will know A lot more after a 2 week Moose hunt up here going through swamps and in the mountains pulling a heavy meat trailor behind it. I was really kind of worried getting rid of my Cat, but I really like my new grizz so far. It is really a fun ride.
If it looks like my tires are going to rub I will try setting the shocks a couple of more notches stiffer.
