I want to add between 6 and 10 Uni-vents to my Raptor airbox. The dealer seems to not like them saying they either get plugged up or let too much water in. Do you guys add filter oil to them or just plain to help keep big dust particles out?

I am either installing the vents or adding a second snorkle...what do you think?

Xplor,

How's it going? Well I see nobody has responded so I thought I could shed some light.

I ran the univents for about 3 weeks, prior to getting my Graydon airbox. The univents work but, not as well as the Graydon with a outwears lid. Mine kept popping out of the lid but, the easy fix is to just calk or silicone them in. I think for a cheap and easy way to get more air, this is probably the best solution.

Make sure to oil them just like your filter and more often, as they will get clogged up fast in dusty conditions.

Hope I have helped, let me know.

I have the uni-vents installed in my Warrior airbox lid. I think they work great. I was concerned about water also. I call Outerwears and got a sheet of water repellant air filter material. After I installed the vents (oiled of course) I stretched the fabric over the airbox lid and held it in place with a plastic frame I made to fit around the perimeter of the lid. I then drilled holes and put screws through the plastic frame and Outerwears to hold it to the lid. When I need to clean the filters I just take the lid off and pull the foam inserts out from the inside. The reason I did this was because of the bad reports of the Outerwears airbox lid. I heard the velcro doesn't hold to good and it is a pain to take off and put back on. I also heard after a couple of on/offs you tend to rip the fabric. This way I have plenty of airflow, it's water repellant and only 5 screws to take off the lid for cleaning!
