IMHO, the Raptor is not a mud quad. I'm not sure what advantages you are talking about, but the rear axle only has 4.5" of ground clearance. As soon as you hit anything deeper than a mud puddle, you could get stuck.

I use a technique of getting up my speed and using my aluminum skid plates a sleds to get thru small areas of deep mud or ruts. It can be hard on the skid plates if you find a rock.

As much as I love my Raptor, if the mud is deep and there is lots of it - I leave it a home and ride my 4x4.
