im 13 5'7 and 160lbs. is this raptor too powerful for me? i have a kx100, and i have yet to upgrade. this raptor, my friend has one but iv only seen it once. he wheelied into 1-2-3 but slowly the front started going down in 4th. he peels everytime he starts off, he says he cant help it, that its not the satanic power, its the machines! i ride trails and like to goof and jump. im hardcore, but not THAT experienced. im more of a dirtbike rider being introduced to quads(yes, iv driven quads before, many many times), iv jumped 27fter jumps on my kx100, so, i think i could handle a raptor - or could I? remember, dont judge me by my age, iv driven a 1601cc harley down a drag strip, with my dad on the back of course! will the raptor do the same? i like the look a lot better from the 400ex, with reverse and 660cc?! id pick it any day! in my signature it says i have a raptor, lol, no, i wish! but i DO have the trx300, wasnt kidding(dreaming)about that. i look for arm-ripping power and speed. inlighten me.

If you have the money!!!! Your Raptor is waiting for you at your Yamaha dealer. I have ridden dirt bikes for a long time and the Raptor is a extra wide 4 wheel dirtbike. Chet

I think I might have to judge you by your age considering the reply to a serious post asking "Am I too tall for the Raptor" We know it's not your problem but that is why we all joined the forum, to solve other peoples problems as well as our own problems. Please get serious with your own responses to other peoples posts. Thank you.

he seems serious enough to me, I take no offence to him acting like he has a raptor, as long as he straigt up tells us so whats the problem, if anyone askes him he will tell them all the same im sure, lighten up he's probably gonna get one anyway.

yeah man I'm 15, 6'0, 185lbs, it was my first bike with manual clutch, I started out with a trx70 when i was really little, then went to a bayou, then a trailboss250, now to this, it will be less of an upgrade for you after riding a dirtbike, so go for it they're way funner than anything else ive rode! well other than a banshee cuz of the nice powerband.

Hmmmm....raptor for beginner. I am 14 years old and am 5'8'' and weigh 142.i own a 300 ex and i rode my cousins raptor.while on the straight away when im in 5th gear on ex,i was in 2-3 on the raptor.this quad is serious.it has a punch and can almost rip ur arms off.its a big step up from a kx100.so i would say be carefull but if u got the $$$$ get it.

im a bit older than you, 19, and my raptor is my first quad.. ive rode a little before, on my brothers quads (one had a banshee, the other a suzuki 230) total riding time before my raptor was maybe 3 or 4 hours... i think you will be ok as long as you have COMMON SENSE, dont be stupid and try to show off for anyone.. and most important... if you plan on hammering it.. you better be sittin on that front bumper, cuz those wheels have no problem comming up and dumpin you off the back
