Has anyone out there ever raced a quadzilla with any machine?? Like a banshee bombardier or a raptor.Could u tell me how u did??

 

I have never raced one, but I know that a good running quadzilla is faster.

My brother in-law has a LT250R that was bored out to about 263cc with FMF pipe/silencer and Barrnet clutch with new reed. He raced a guy on a Banshee this weekend and smoked him. The guy was talking trash about how he had been clocked at 108mph and the thing looked and sounded a little ragged so my bro in-law got feed up with all the BS and said lets run them. Well the Banshee owner was so made I thought they were going to throw down. I hate people like that.....you know the ones that go on and on and on and when they get beat there the biggest babys you every seen. So I can only imagine what a LT500R would be like.

 

My LT500 has been beaten by plenty of quads-Raptors, Bomb, Banshee. I've beaten my share too. I sure like all the new quads coming out because the competition is great. It is still a bad SOB almost 14 years later.

 

Although I haven't had the opportunity to race a zilla against my Raptor, I used to own a 89 zilla. My zilla was ported and had some other work done to it. Comparing my old zilla to a stock Raptor is not even worth thinking about, that old zilla would roost all over the Raptor.

Now that I have a 680 kit (bored, ported, valved, piped etc,) in my Raptor, I would say it would have been a very close race with my old modded 89 zilla.

Stock for stock, a zilla wins. With the right mods, it is close but, you can still get more performance out of a 500cc + 2-stroke.

I was out of the ATV market when the SUZUKI LT500R was made and have not even seen one. Was it hard to kick start these machines? Is this the machine that the Hots Wheels Quad Racer is modeled after? Chet
