Hi guys...I am very disappointed in the mileage I am getting with my new Griz. It is a whopping 14 mpg, and that is riding easy in 2 wheel drive. The mileage is figured using GPS for miles traveled as the odometer is off a full 10%. I'm not whining about the fuel cost but the lack or range this machine has. My '98 SP 500 gets a 25+ mpg. Hopefully the Grizzly's mileage will improve when it is broken in, it only has 240 miles on it now (less 10% that is). I hate the thought of having to carry an extra 4 gallons of fuel to get the same range as I am accustomed to. I was going to sell my SP 500 but I have changed my mind, it really is just as good as the Griz 660. Can anyone offer any words of encouragement? What kind of mileage are you seeing and how many miles do you have on your machines?

Brian...On my Griz the hour meter is directly related to how long the key is in the on position, not how long the engine has been running. I intend to take my Griz to the "dealer" and see if they can correct the
problem. Do you have a similar problem with yours? I have 240 miles on
my Grizzl'y odometer, but the clock says 55.2 hours. Yes, I left the ignition on a couple of times...Arlan

My wife and I went riding last weekend, her on the Ruby me on the Grizz. At the end of the day the Grizz registered 1.6 miles more than the Ruby. Which is off? Not sure yet but will be checking with GPS in near future.

Looks like this "mileage" thread changed from fuel mileage to odometer accuracy. Anyone got any reports on fuel mileage and what range they are getting on a tank of gas?

No actually it is the same topic for how can you get an accurate mpg reading with an odometer that is so far off (maybe).

My buddy and i went out last wekend and put on over 150 miles on his Grizz and my cat by the GPS. He averaged just over 20 MPG. He's got almost 500 miles on his monthe old Grizz the milege has continually improved. He and I don't think it will get much better than what it is now. Most of the riding was done at 4000 feet and higher. Above 5000 feet the thing really bogs down, It seems to be running rich at that altitude.
