i have a 94 blaster and i have v force reeds and recently the pedals on them broke and v force warrantedd it and i put the new ones in and it ran fine. THen the other day i was ridin in hot weather behind a freind and it was reallly dusty. It was runin fine then it started to not idle. So i turned it up rode somemore and then it started sputterin and stuff. I took off my air filter and it was really dirty and i figured stuff might have gotten in the carb so i took it apart and cleaned it. It lost compression too so i thought i may have cooked the psiton so i took it the reed cage off and kicked it over but everything sounded fine it didnt make any scratchin so i cleaned everything up adn put it back together. i figured the idling was because the carb was all gummed up but i started it up and it still wouldnt idle it seemed to be runnin fine so i went to drive it around and when i gave it the gas it would spit and sputter and then like back fire and it was really bad so i turned it off. I figured i definately cooked it so i took it apart and everything looked fine the piston had oil on it and the rings werent stuck or anything so if u have any suggestions please help. i was possibly thinkin maybe a head gasket but not sure if anyone has info please respond. thanx

Umm the spark plug is only a couple days old and if the plug was bad would that would make it not idle? when i did take it out to check it it was all like carboned up and i have never seen that before so what would make it all carboned up like that? thanx it could be a possibility

And when you put the new reeds in you did rejet didnt you? This sounds like you just have too big of a main jet and need to adjust your idle screw.

Ok, if you lost compression DO NOT CHEAT YOUR SELF and not yank the head. If you pull it off everying will be seen. My be a piece of your reed got in to you cylinder. Also if you did not have enough filter oil on the filter some stuff could have gotten in the cyinder.

yea thanx for all the help i think that my rings r just worn out cuz they r really easy to push together or also maybe the head gasket is leaking. because the cylinder is fine and the piston has no marks on it so i think that is the problem adn why there isnt a lot of compression so i am gonna just put new rings and a gasket kit.
