Raptor vs YZ125
#4
Looking at my december 1999 issue of dirt bike magazine it says that a yz 125 has 33h.p and weighs 207lb wet.Now that gives it a power to weight ratio of 6.27lb per horsepower. Now from what i have been hearing about raptors they weigh like 420lb wet and have 38 horsepower. So that gives it a power to weight ratio of 11.05lb per horsepower. Now a Stock yz125 should have no problem taking a Stock raptor, but the piped 125 should take all of them.I say SHOULD,if all the riders are equal in skill, but they rarely are.Hope this helps.Later.

I would say that the YZ125 would take the Raptor until top end. My CR125 was about even with a Banshee on top end, so from that I am guessing that the Raptor is a little bit faster up top. It should be close though.

I think it depends somewhat on the rider. There's 2 YZ125s that I ride with. They are both stock. I also ride with a Raptor that has a White Bros pipe on it. He beat one 125 and lost to the other one. So I would think a piped YZ would smoke a Raptor. Stock or Piped.
